Day 2: HOW DOES CULTURE INFLUENCE THE ARTISTIC WORK OF A COLLECTIVE?
Alain Snyers (Paris) working together, be together – acting together
Fine-art artist – lives in France.
Born in 1951 – Studied at École des Beaux-arts of Paris – Graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (Paris) in painting.
In 1975 in Paris, was a co-founder of the group UNTEL (with Albinet and Cazal). Member of the group until 1979. Collaborated with Hervé Fischer in 1979 and 1980 to carry out sociological art maneuvers in Germany, Holland and Quebec.
Snyers has been developing a practice of urban interventions and installations giving focus to the city and everyday life. He develops an observation process, diversion and parody. He exhibits regularly in France.
He was Head of the school of art and design of Amiens (France) from 1991 to 2004. Snyers’s theorical research deals mainly with performing art and its social links.
