ABOUT
Founded by former members graduated from the Fresnoy school of Contemporary Art (Tourcoing-fr.), Mu is an independent artistic productions structure. Installationsor performances, MU’s creations operate a series of reality shifts : by the means of sound and video projections, an elaborate scenography or ambulation in a natural setting… Places invested by the MU collective become experimental sceneries, playgrounds for inventing fictional scenario : in theses collective devices, anyone, -artist or spectator- is free to chose his point of view to create his own walkthrough. The sound installations of MU in urban territory grant his team a notoriety in Paris (Nuit Blanche 2005 and 2006, Centre Pompidou and Festival Sous la Plage 2006, Palais de Tokyo and Maison de la Radio 2007) and at certain extent at international level (Biennale MIVAEM – Montréal 2006, Sibiu et Luxembourg Capitales Européennes de la Culture 2007). In 2007, the film festival Filmer La Musiquetransforms the configuration of the Point Ephémère, a Gallery-club-concert room in Paris. In 2008, MU designs a mobile residence on a barge sailing down the Rhin and Danube rivers, gathering around forty international artists (www.sound-delta.eu). In the meantime, MU creates a parallel structure, REMU (member of Cap Digital) to develop an augmented reality project, supported by the ANR in relation with several research groups of the île-de-France Department (several prototypes in 2009). It is supported on a regular basis by the city of Paris, the french Ministère de la Culture, and institutional or private partners. MU is member of the committee of the Cluster ParisMix- Paris capitale des Musiques du Monde.
